Product Description
This is a Persistence of Vision (POV) Demonstration Apparatus a classic physics and optics teaching aid used to demonstrate the phenomenon of Persistence of Vision to students. When the card/image mounted on the rotating stand is spun rapidly using the hand crank, the human eye retains the image briefly, creating the illusion of a combined or continuous image. This is the fundamental principle behind animation, cinema, and television.
The apparatus features a colorful parrot image card mounted on a white board, a red vertical rod, a red gear/crank wheel with green handles, and a sturdy blue square base with a green circular platform.
